Cloud Nine

Ten days ago, I had the privilege to step foot on the ground and floor that Walt Disney himself walked on. My mentor gave me a Disney Studios Tour and it was amazing. It felt like a beautiful, beautiful dream. It felt so surreal. Last year at D23 Expo, my dad took a picture of me with the image of the Team Disney Building, pretending as if I'm actually there. He then said something along the lines of that one day I'll be actually there taking the real thing. Who knew that day will happen in less than a year. It felt like I was in heaven. A place full of love and joy dedicated to storytelling. A place full of Disney history in the making. It was incredible. I still felt like I was on cloud nine when I got home. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to able to get the tour of Disney Studios. Thank you mentor. Forever one for the books.

Find a Rainbow Day

After every rainstorm (or after gloomy weather), find a rainbow in the sky. Or a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow you find. I found myself a lovely rainbow, made out of... words.

This Spring Break, I started my first screenplay. In March, a producer at my internship site talked to me about writing my own work when we were talking and I mentioned that I write and have a blog. He told me that some people start writing their own screenplays/scripts and that's how they begin their journey in the entertainment industry. I thought about writing myself a while back and I think it had to do with another conversation I had with the same producer, but it wasn't until this conversation I had in March that made me buckle down in a chair and think about writing.

The concept of this story came to me at night actually. It was as if a lightbulb went on in my head and the ideas came pouring out. I told myself that I'll start writing, and sure enough I did. I am at about 28 pages right now, not including a title. Still a working progress with school and all, but I'm going to finish it soon!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today and hopefully, you can find a rainbow or inspiration in your situation right now. Good luck!

April 2nd

On April 2nd, we wear blue. Today is World Autism Awareness Day. It is dedicated to acknowledgement and acceptance of those with autism, a condition with challenges of communication, social relationships, and repetitive action. I know some people with autism and I see the difficulty and hardship not only for them and for their family members. It is not easy to lend a helping hand to individuals with autism or to relatives to individuals with autism. There is something that everyone can do: treat them with respect and fairness like you would treat your friends, strangers, classmates, and many others. Autistic people have feelings, have emotions, and most importantly, have something to say. These may come in different forms but above all, autistic individuals embody all of them and everyone deserves to be respected, understood, and treated equally. This not only goes for autistic people, but also for individuals that embody a characteristic that is different from a typical person, whether it is a person who is in a wheel chair or a person who is colorblind. Or simply, a person who is left-handed. Everyone deserves to be valued and treated with civility. Be accepting of all differences. Then and only then can we live in a world with less discrimination and with more love.
